Terms of Service
Effective 2026-06-01
Agreement
By using Faraday — whether through the website at faraday.cam, the Android app, or any other client — you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
What Faraday is
Faraday is a privacy-focused calling application. It provides end-to-end encrypted voice and video calls with local video masking and audio disguise. There are no accounts, no logins, and no server-side storage of your data.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use Faraday to:
- Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right.
- Harass, threaten, stalk, or harm another person.
- Transmit malware, exploits, or any code designed to interfere with the service or other users' devices.
- Attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service or its infrastructure without written permission.
- Interfere with, disrupt, or place an unreasonable load on the service or the relay infrastructure.
We reserve the right to block access to the relay server for any user who violates these terms.
Purchases
The Android app offers an optional one-time "Supporter" purchase via Google Play Billing. This purchase grants a badge in the UI and helps fund the relay server. It does not unlock, disable, or change any privacy or security feature. Every protection described in the Privacy Policy applies equally to free and paying users.
Refunds for Google Play purchases are handled by Google according to their refund policy. Faraday does not process or store any payment information — all billing is handled entirely by Google Play.
Intellectual property
The Faraday name, logo, and visual design are the property of Faraday. The underlying source code is available on our repository under its posted license. Your use of the service does not grant you any ownership rights in the software or the infrastructure.
Disclaimer of warranties
Faraday is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure against all threats.
Faraday raises the cost of mass passive surveillance and casual interception. It is not a guarantee against state-level exploits, compromised devices, or zero-day vulnerabilities.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Faraday and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid to Faraday in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $10 USD, whichever is greater.
Service availability
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time without notice. The relay server (turn.faraday.cam) and signaling broker are maintained on a best-effort basis.
Age requirement
You must be at least 13 years old to use Faraday. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agrees to these terms on your behalf.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Your continued use of Faraday after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Contact
Questions about these terms can be directed to the contact information on our repository or by emailing 1800bobrossdotcom@gmail.com.
